When I haven’t planned dinner, frozen meatballs let me make a quick meal of spaghetti and meatballs or meatball sandwiches. Making Meatballs in the Air Fryer is so easy to do. This post contains affiliate links.

This is why I keep a bag of frozen meatballs in the freezer all the time. Everybody loves meatballs, and it takes less than 10 minutes to have them ready to add to a meal.

What do you need to make Meatballs in the Air Fryer?

Frozen meatballs before they're cooked.

You just need precooked frozen meatballs. They have all kinds of Italian style to homestyle to even Swedish meatballs at the grocery stores. I have a big family, so I buy a giant bag at Sam’s Club.

How do you make Meatballs in the Air Fryer?

I don’t preheat my air fryer. I know some people swear by it and some air fryers even have a preheat button (mine does not). I just never do it for pretty much anything, but boiled eggs.

Place one layer of meatballs in the air fryer basket.

Set the air fryer on 400 F degrees for 8 minutes. Shake the basket halfway through the time.

When they’re done, add them to your favorite sauce and serve with your meal.

Can you cook frozen meatballs with sauce in the air fryer?

Yes! I do it for the same amount of time as without sauce.

But…this is not my favorite way to make frozen meatballs because it’s messy. I don’t like spending a lot of time cleaning the air fryer, and adding the sauce with the meatballs makes a big ol’ mess in the air fryer basket.

How do you make spaghetti and meatballs with frozen meatballs in the air fryer?

I like to make angel hair pasta while the air fryer is cooking the frozen meatballs because angel hair pasta cooks super fast since it’s so thin. It’s pretty much done by the time the meatballs are done.

Plus, it’s a great pasta for kids as it sticks together better than thicker spaghetti noodles, which makes it easy to eat.

Then, I heat the pasta sauce in a microwave-safe bowl that I can also drop the meatballs into as soon as they’re ready. Or, you can heat the sauce on the stove top and drop the meatballs into it.

You’ll even have time to make a simple vinegar and oil salad. I throw salad mix in a bowl and add this:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • 2 pinches of white sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt

Then, dinner is ready! It takes less than 15 minutes from start to everything on the table for a quick and easy dinner!

You can also make meatball sandwiches. I have a quick recipe coming soon for this, but the method for the frozen meatballs is this exact same one.
