Cinnamon and Sugar Apple Chips are super easy to make in the air fryer. No need for a fancy dehydrator!
Apple Chips are wonderful treat for the kids. I just love them.
What kind of apple do you use to make Cinnamon and Sugar Apple Chips?
Choose crispier apples like Fuji, Gala, Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Pink Lady apples tend to be the most crisp. Try to avoid the softer apples like macintosh (my personal favorite apple ever) or red delicious because they just don’t crisp the same.
What do you need to make Cinnamon and Sugar Apple Chips in the air fryer?
You will need 3 medium apples or 5 small apples. This will get you about 30 apple slices for the apple chips.
You’ll also need cinnamon, white sugar, and vegetable oil. (You can use white sugar or powdered sugar. Sometimes powdered sugar is easier for this recipe.)
This is the perfect recipe for an air fryer because it makes extremely crispy chips and in much less time.
How do you make Cinnamon and Sugar Apple Chips in the Air Fryer?
Slice the apples as thinly as you can, around 1/8″ to 1/16″ thick. We like using a mandoline to get thin and even slices, just use caution!
Lay slice on parchment paper Mix cinnamon and sugar until well combined.
Spray the apple slices with oil and season with cinnamon sugar, repeat on other side.
Place the apple slices in air fryer basket, stacking the sporadically.
Cook slices on 300 for 20 minutes, shacking the slices every 5 minutes.
Once slices look dry, increase the temp to 325 and cook for 2 more minutes.
Remove the apple chips and lit sit for 5-10 minutes to allow for further drying.
How do you store Apple Chips?
If you have leftovers, store your apple chips in an air tight container not in the fridge. The fridge will make them soft.
