This is an unbelievably fast dinner to make. When I made this the other night, I made stove top mac and cheese at the same time, and the hot dogs were ready long before the mac and cheese noodles were even ready to come out of the water.

What do you need to make Air Fryer Hot Dogs?

It doesn’t take much!

  • Hot Dogs
  • Buns
  • Your favorite condiments – mustard, ketchup, relish, etc.

How do you make Air Fryer Hot Dogs?

Preheat air fryer to 390 F degrees. If you don’t have a preheat button on your air fryer (I don’t), then just run the air fryer at the temperature desired for about 3-4 minutes.

If you want to crisp up the hot dog buns, do those first before cooking the hot dogs because the hot dogs leave a bit of a mess in the bottom of the air fryer.

Put the buns in the basket of the air fryer and cook for 2 minutes. Remove buns to a plate.

Put the hot dogs in the basket of the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes. Check them at about the 3 minute mark, just to make sure they aren’t expanding too much.

Cooked Air Fryer Hot Dogs on a turquoise plate that have plumped up nice and juicy.

They should plump up and look very juicy. If you like your hot dog more on the crispier side, let them cook for an additional 2 minutes before removing from the air fryer.

Now it’s time to put your hot dog on a bun and add those yummy condiments!
