There is just nothing like twice baked potatoes, and making twice baked potatoes in the air fryer is so convenient, especially in the warmer months as it won’t heat up the whole kitchen! This post contains affiliate links.
I just love them because they’re so creamy, cheesy, and delicious. I much prefer mashed potatoes over baked potatoes, so twice baked potatoes are just perfect to combine the two. You basically have a little boat full of mashed potatoes.
What do you need to make Twice Baked Potatoes in the Air Fryer?
Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need 3 or 4 large russet potatoes. You will also need a seasoning blend like Nature’s Seasons, butter, heavy cream, sour cream, and shredded cheese. For the cheese, I really like a colby jack for the flavor.
How do you make Twice Baked Potatoes in the Air Fryer?
Depending on the size of your air fryer, you will need 3 or 4 large baking potatoes. I recommend russet potatoes as their skin is the best for these.
Wash the potatoes and using a fork puncture holes around the whole potato.
Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket leaving room. Do not over crowd the potatoes.
Cook on 400°F degrees for 20 minutes three times. Each time rotate the potatoes.
Get a large mixing bowl.
Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise and use a spoon to scoop out the insides and put in the mixing bowl.
Mix in half of the cheese, and all the butter, heavy cream, sour cream and seasoning.
Fill as many hollowed-out potatoes as you can with the mixture.
Top each potato with the rest of the shredded cheese and bake in air fryer on 350 for 5 minutes.
When they’re ready, top with your favorite toppings such as bacon, sour cream, chives, etc.! My son LOVES adding sriracha ranch to everything, including his potatoes.
