Who’s ready for some gross out Halloween treats for the kids? Take refrigerated cinnamon rolls and turn them into Halloween Air Fryer Cinnamon Roll Intestines!
Your kids are gonna love digging into these cinnamon roll intestines for Halloween!
Ingredients to make Cinnamon Roll Intestines
This is basically a two-ingredient recipe! You need:
- 1 can of refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
- red food coloring
How do you make Halloween Cinnamon Roll Intestines in the Air Fryer?
Remove the raw cinnamon rolls from the can. Set aside the frosting for later.
NOTE: Some canned cinnamon rolls have stamped rolls and others have rolled buns. Either version is fine to make this recipe.
If the cinnamon rolls are rolled, unravel each one and stretch it out into a strip.
If the cinnamon rolls are stamped, use a paring knife to cut through the bun along the stamp to “unravel” the bun. Stretch out into a strip.
Spray the air fryer basket with oil.
Coil each cinnamon roll strip to resemble the small intestines, pinching together the ends. The cinnamon roll will expand so the spaces between the coils is ok.
Cook at 300°F degrees for 10 minutes.
While the cinnamon rolls are cooking, mix the red food coloring into the frosting until a deep rich red color emerges. Depending on the type of food coloring you will need more or less. If using gel food coloring, you’ll need less, and if using the drops, you’ll need more. Just eyeball it to make your bloody icing.
Microwave the frosting for 15-20 seconds in a microwave-safe bowl to thin it out. This will really make it look like simulated blood better.
Remove the cooked cinnamon rolls gently. If you have a basket with a removable tray, remove the tray and slide the rolls off together onto a platter or baking sheet. If you don’t have a removable tray, then you might need to remove the rolls in sections and piece them back together on a platter or baking sheet.
Drizzle the frosting over the rolls and enjoy.
